Royal Hawaiian Resort
In 1927, the six-story, 400-room The Royal Hawaiian, a.k.a the “Pink Palace of the Pacific” was built on Waikiki Beach just down from the iconic Moana Hotel. It became famous for it’s world-class accommodations and signature pink exterior. King Kamehameha I and Queen Kaahumanu’s Summer Palace was once located in what is now the hotel’s Coconut Grove garden.
