When people ask me where to stay in Waikiki, and they say “nice but won’t break the bank,” I have my go-to list ready. With nearly 30,000 hotel rooms within the 3.4 square miles that comprises this international destination, I definitely haven’t been to all of the hotels, but I have been to these and here’s why I recommend them These link to my priceline account -- so if you see a deal here you like - book it! But if you want more help email me at mimi@HawaiiIslander.com New Otani Kaimana Hotel Ever since I stayed here with my daughters for a wedding in 2007, it’s been on the top of my recommendation list.
On the shores of Sans Souci Beach, which is the eastern edge of Waikiki Beach, this property is ideal for those who want the excitement of Waikiki without the crowds. It is about two miles from downtown Waikiki (but very walkable to everything). Rooms have either a Diamond Head (2.7 miles from the hotel) or ocean view and all have some type of balcony or patio, a refrigerator, washing machine and free Wi-Fi. Some suites have a kitchenette. There is an on-site spa, gym, great bar and restaurant. In fact, the Hau Tree restaurant, is famous for their macadamia nut pancakes.
Coconut Waikiki Hotel I love this property for the value. It’s a fun, funky atmosphere. Check out the video I made, and say hello to Josh, if you happen to book a room.
Looking for value in Waikiki? I found it for you. The 81-room, Joie de Vivre’s, Coconut Waikiki Hotel, is just three blocks from the world famous Waikiki beach, and can easily save you three hundred dollars per night. In typical JDV style, the property has a clean and contemporary decor and all the amenities necessary to keep you comfortable. There is a pool on property, 24-hour fitness center and complimentary hot breakfast served daily.
Shoreline Hotel Waikiki This is another Joie de Vivre property about a block closer to the beach, it is slightly more per room –but the rooftop pool is worth it!
With a great central location in Waikiki, this Joie de Vivre property has a rooftop pool, private balcony for each room, refrigerator/microwave, flat screen TVs and plush linens, all for a lot less than the larger resorts. This property is about a five-minute walk to Waikiki Beach and is surrounded by great shopping and restaurants including the Royal Hawaiian Center. Hotel Renew by Aston Waikiki Expect the Aston value with a fun, modern design, this property is ideal for budget minded travelers with a high standards.
One of my favorite Aston properties in the islands, this affordable and chic, 72-room hotel in Waikiki is just a block from the beach. The rooms are usually under two hundred dollars, but have all the amenities of the big name resorts nearby. There is a daily continental breakfast with fresh fruit and pastries, minibar and free Wi-Fi
