- If you're a foodie this open-air, tapas restaurant in Hanalei should be on your Kauai bucket list. Chef/owner, Jim Moffat, who created two succesful restaurants in San Francisco, 42 Degrees and The Slow Club, brought his culinary talents to the island first in 2005 with Bar Acuda in the Hanalei Center and more recently Living Foods Market in Poipu's Kukui`ula Village.
The Vibe: Hollywood meets San Francisco in the warmth of an open air restaurant in the idyllic town of Hanalei. Good looking wait staff serving a sun kissed, relaxed clientele.
The Menu: Eclectic tapas served with mostly island-sourced produce and artisan meats and seafood.
Don't miss: While I liked everything my favorite was the Honeycomb from the North Shore with Kunana Farms goat cheese, Mizuna greens and apples.
